Each year, The National Campaign for Drawing encourages the nation to draw. Any individual, organisation, school or college can instigate their own creative activity to engage with the wider community and enjoy the opportunity to express themselves and ultimately have fun!

Last year Crawley Borough Council commissioned artists Jo Harrison and Rachel Cowell to jointly work with Community Arts and Crawley Wellbeing to facilitate three activities in Crawley.

Using the theme of ‘line’, a variety of unlikely sourced and recycled materials were utilised to create three very different events at K2, Tilgate Park and Queens Square.

Each event engaged with all ages, allowing each participant to enjoy ‘drawing’ in ways that they may not have encountered before and the results were a mixture of 2D observational drawing, outdoor sculpture and mixed media art!
